Job Summary:

The Department of Communication is seeking to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Digital Communication. This individual will teach primarily in the undergraduate program in Communication at FDU’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, NJ, and the nationally recognized Master of Arts Program in Communication. We are seeking a colleague whose teaching and research focuses on digital media and internet-enabled communication.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants would have to demonstrate a capacity for teaching with a strong focus on critical thinking skills, innovation, and capacity to adapt to changing technical aspects of digital media and broadcasting. The successful applicant will be expected to take a leading role in the creation of the curriculum for a Digital Media and Broadcasting concentration for students at the Metropolitan Campus, where we seek to specialize and develop excellence in this area. The applicant would be expected to teach relevant courses in closely-related areas such as mass communication, interpersonal communication, advertising, or public relations according to their research area of interest and departmental need.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education and advising, teaching effectiveness, scholarship, and service. Experience with on-line teaching is also sought.

A PhD in communication or related fields is preferred but ABD status will be considered.
