SUMMARY:

Assistant Professor, Tenure-track Position in Higher Education & Learning Technologies. This position is for a Spring 2022 start date.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach primarily online.
  • Implement a significant, ongoing program of focused scholarly research and publications, including collaborative efforts with appropriate content area faculty.
  • Provide service and leadership to national and regional professional organizations, the university, college, and department.
  • Chair and serve on master's and doctoral student committees.
  • Advise masters and doctoral students.
  • Applicants will be expected to have potential for or demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • hold an earned doctorate in the field or study of Higher Education or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution in the United States;
  • demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, service, and intellectual contributions to the discipline (research);
  • be proficient in the English language both orally and in writing;
  • demonstrate expertise in online delivery of instruction;
  • have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • demonstrate ability to work effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community and be committed to the preparation of graduates to meet the needs of the diverse populations of the region;
  • have experience and/or knowledge in one of the following: higher education, community colleges, governance, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, student affairs, academic affairs, higher education finance, higher education law, history of higher education.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

  • have a beginning record of scholarly research productivity;
  • demonstrate a commitment to the use of technology in instruction, including online delivery of instruction;
  • have the potential to direct doctoral dissertations;
  • demonstrate active participation in professional organizations (e.g., ASHE, ACPA, NASPA, AIR, AERA, AACC);
  • demonstrate ability to collaborate with colleagues;
  • maintain the ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others;
  • demonstrate teaching ability and experience at the graduate level.
