Job SummaryTo guide and inspire students to learn by planning, conducting, and evaluating instructional activities geared to student learning characteristics designed to achieve collegiate standards. The successful candidate will need the flexibility to teach Art Appreciation as needed, and take a leadership role in forging the future of the department and the school. The faculty member may help to facilitate completion of the Senior Exhibition, the capstone course.
Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities:
Teaching courses in studio art (Drawing, Printmaking/Screen Printing, Color Theory, Painting) and Art Management for Business, with emphasis on incorporating technology and digital media into coursework.
Participation in the continuing development of new media courses incorporating the use of technology in developing fine art works.
Oversight of Drawing, Printmaking, Screen-printing areas
Act as Departmental Consultant on Technology
Participation in committee work at departmental, college and university levels.
Maintaining a record of scholarly and creative activity and self-development.
To be available to students for academic advisement
Participation in departmental activities
QualificationsMasters Degree (M.F.A.)
Should be experienced in contemporary methods and ideas
Should have a record of scholarship, research, and creative activities
Should have the ability to transfer and conceptualize Drawing and Printmaking assignments into digital media.
Should be able to document creative ability through website, or other acceptable digital documentation
