Position Overview
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Kansas (KU) seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor in experimental condensed matter physics (CMP) with an emphasis on quantum information science or areas related to it to begin as early as August 18, 2022.
The KU condensed matter physics group has research programs on nanomaterials, renewable energy, low-dimensional physics, superconductivity, organic semiconductors, ultrafast laser spectroscopy, and computational condensed matter physics. The group also plays a key role in promoting university-wide material research efforts. Qualifying candidates must have a doctorate degree in physics or a closely related field. A strong record of research and commitment to excellence in teaching are required. Candidates with research interests in areas of experimental condensed matter physics that are related to quantum information science and compatible with the existing efforts in the department are particularly encouraged to apply.

An active and productive research program with impactful publications in condensed matter physics and related areas is expected, as it contributes towards establishing and maintaining a national and international reputation.
