Assistant Professor - Exercise Science and Pre-Health Professions

The Department of Exercise Science and Pre-Health Professions at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin fall 2021. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate classes with expertise in the areas of human physiology, anatomy, nutrition, and exercise science; establishing/continuing a research agenda capable of securing external funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journals; mentoring/advising undergraduate and graduate students; providing service to the department, college, university, community, and profession; and demonstrating collaborative interests and collegiality in all aspects of faculty engagement. Candidates with research expertise in the area of skeletal muscle biology and/or that complements existing areas of departmental research are preferred. Applicants must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including proficiency in English. Candidates must have completed a PhD in exercise science, physiology, kinesiology, or a related field by the start date (August 2021). Qualifications:

A Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university;
2-4 years prior teaching experience;

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs;

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations;

Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others;

Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications
