Job Overview

UC and the College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies (CCPS) is looking to fill the following position:

  • Assistant Professor, Educator
  • Appointment: Non-Tenure (Educator) Track
  • Date of Appointment: August 15, 2024
  • 12 month contract

Essential Functions

The core responsibility of the Assistant Professor Educator in CCPS is fostering the professional development of students within the Professional Studies program. Specific responsibilities that support student success include:

  • Teaching professional development courses within the Bachelor of Professional Studies program, with the expectation to facilitate 30 credits annually.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop, assess, and improve courses.
  • Support students within BPS through individualized career coaching sessions, to ensure they are well prepared to achieve their professional goals.
  • Develop relationships with partnership development and external stakeholders to support the hiring and growth of BPS students.
  • Designing curricula in alignment with student needs and the goals of the college/unit.
  • Organizing lessons that support learning outcomes. Develop and lead interactive instruction via online delivery.
  • Support students through individualized one on one meetings and consultations.
  • Preparing materials that are universally accessible (ADA Compliant).
  • Communicating effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and diverse learning styles.
  • Valuing diversity in all forms and cultivating a culture of belonging.
  • Working collaboratively with the faculty, staff, and administrators to support students within BPS.

Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree with minimum of three years of professional work experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational, written and oral communication skills.
  • Effectiveness in interpersonal relationship and the ability to work harmoniously with a variety of interest groups.
  • Experience (or transferable skills) that prepare the candidate to carry out the primary responsibilities of this position.
