Job Summary 


The Department of Chemistry at Drexel University is seeking an outstanding early-career candidate for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in chemistry or an allied field, develop a strong commitment to teaching in inorganic chemistry and be able to establish a vigorous, externally funded research program. Candidates should have experimental research interests that could include, but would not be limited to, energy, photovoltaics, sustainable inorganic reactions, catalysis, bioinorganic chemistry, metalloenzymes, metals in biology, and/or organometallic chemistry. The Department of Chemistry with the College of Arts and Sciences (CoAS) is home to a group of subdisciplines that includes analytical, organic, inorganic, computational, biophysical, chemistry education, and materials chemistry. Many of its research groups are involved in very successful interdisciplinary collaborations with groups in other departments of the university, with strong ties to chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Essential Functions 


  • Building a successful and well-funded research program that involves graduate and undergraduate student education. 
  • Teaching inorganic chemistry courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 
  • Serving on committees at the department, college and university level. 
  • Other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications 


  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Chemistry or related discipline 


Preferred Qualifications 


  • Demonstrated ability to conduct productive research in her/his/their field. 
  • Commitment to teaching and service.

  • Typically standing, walking.

Additional Information 


This is a full-time Faculty position classified as Exempt. The offered salary is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
