Job Overview

The Department of Marketing at the Lindner College of Business, University of Cincinnati invites applications from qualified individuals for tenure track, Assistant Professor positions in Marketing.

 

The Department of Marketing is known for its strong behavioral research. The University of Cincinnati is a thriving top-25 research university situated in a city with eight Fortune 500 companies. The Lindner College of Business leverages this strength to offer students an environment of academic excellence with an emphasis on experiential learning.  The UC Marketing Department will play a strong role in the University’s “Next Lives Here” strategic plan and the Digital Futures and Innovation District initiatives. The Department of Marketing has the largest undergraduate major on campus, an online/on-campus Master of Science in Marketing program, as well as a strong Ph.D. program. The tenure-track faculty in the department serve as editors and editorial board members at top journals in the field and have fellow status in ACR, SCP, and APA. Junior faculty have the opportunity to grow in an attractive research environment given the supportive structure for faculty development.  Our department is both collegial and productive, and has a strong commitment to quality research and teaching.

 

Cincinnati is a well-connected city with a temperate climate and low cost of living.  Located on the banks of the Ohio River, it has a vibrant downtown, and numerous suburbs all conveniently located within 30 minutes of the University. Essential Functions

The successful applicant will be expected to conduct research and publish in top academic journals in Marketing; develop/teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels on marketing analytics, digital marketing, marketing research and similar areas; and provide institution-building service to the Department and College (e.g., serve on committees, advise students).


Minimum Requirements

PhD in Marketing, Business, or a related field. Candidates who hold a Marketing or Business PhD would be expected to have graduated from an AACSB-International accredited institution. Candidates are expected to have earned their degree prior to the effective date of appointment, August 15, 2022. Selected candidate must have a focused and productive research program,  demonstrated by at least one publication in Marketing or a related area and at least one other work in progress (e.g., a paper under review at a journal or a working paper in progress but not yet submitted).  In addition, must have experience teaching at least one undergraduate or graduate course in Marketing or a related area (which could have been as a teaching assistant).
