POSITION SUMMARY:
This non-tenure earning position will teach in the CRNA Program; conduct scholarly activity; mentor graduate nursing students; engage in college, university, community, and professional service activities commensurate with the university's criteria for appointment in accordance to rank. The position requires current national certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist; being eligible to practice, current unencumbered APRN licensure to practice in Florida, and current clinical practice as a CRNA/APRN in the state of Florida. The incumbent is expected to be onsite and within daily commuting distance to Tampa, Florida.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
TEACHING: Didactic, Lab, and Clinical Residency courses, utilizing delivery platforms of live face-to-face, remote/synchronous, remote/asynchronous, and hybrid instruction of graduate-level courses primarily in the CRNA program. Program and curriculum review, and clinical site and student evaluation as appropriate.
ADMINISTRATIVE/SERVICE: Serve on college and university committees where appropriate. Community and professional service activities in accordance with university criteria for appointment in accordance to rank.
OTHER DUTIES: Scholarly activity, publications, and presentations in accordance with university criteria for appointment in accordance to rank.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, scholarship, and service. Must meet university criteria appointment in accordance to rank.
Current national certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist; unencumbered APRN licensure to practice in Florida, and current clinical practice as a CRNA/APRN in the state of Florida
PREFERRED:
One year prior post-secondary teaching experience in a college/school of nursing demonstrated expertise in teaching/developing curriculum in pharmacology, physiology, pathophysiology, and Nurse Anesthesia-related curriculum. Experience with technology-supported educational methods (online and blended format); demonstrated ability to work effectively with community partners. An established record of scholarly work and/or external funding; experience with simulation learning; evidence of independent and collaborative scholarship or creative work supported by publications, presentations, and/or their equivalent.
