About the College/Department:

The Department of Safety and Security is one of three departments in the College of Justice, Safety & Military Science. Experienced faculty offer programs to prepare construction managers, safety managers, homeland security managers and emergency/disaster professionals. The department offers three Bachelor of Science Degrees, and a Master of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management, and several undergraduate and graduate university certificate programs. Job Summary/Basic Functions

The program’s emphasis is on construction management and is accredited by ACCE. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate courses for the construction management program in the following areas:
• Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP),
• Statics/Structural Analysis,
• Scheduling,
• Materials and Methods of Construction,
• BIM,
• Project Organization & Supervision
The successful candidate is expected to participate in department, college and university committees, student recruitment, course, laboratory and program development, appropriate service, scholarly activities and articulation with business and industry. Teaching and construction experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

A PhD in Construction Management/Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited or internationally recognized institution is recommended for appointment. Candidates with a Master of Science Degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, or Construction Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of P.E. licensure and experience in the field of construction management will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching experience and relevant professional experience in the United States are preferred.
• Preference will be given to those candidates who have successful teaching experience in an ACCE accredited construction program.
