|Assistant Professor - Construction Engineering Technology|
|The University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track positions at the rank of assistant professor. The position is in the School of Construction within the Construction Engineering Technology program. The School of Construction resides in the College of Science and Technology. Positions will begin August 2017. Salary is commensurate with qualifications.|
|The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses within the Construction Engineering Technology program in areas related to their education and experience. Candidates must have a scholarship and research plan with potential for external funding, the ability to publish in professional and academic journals, and provide service to the university, profession, industry and community.|
A terminal degree within the discipline of construction, architecture or a closely related fields with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework are required.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the time of their application.
Demonstrated ability to engage in effective teaching and research in a traditional classroom setting and online teaching are required. Candidates with relevant industry experience, expertise in teaching areas of the curriculum, and creative and innovative approaches to learning are encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to candidates with Civil and Mechanical engineering competencies.
The Construction Engineering Technology program shares over 60% of its subject courses with the Architectural Engineering Technology program facilitating IPD/D and a Design-Build specialization.
