Job Description Summary:
Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.
The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.
Job Description:

Required Qualifications

Education/Certification: MD or DO, boarded by the ABIM in cardiovascular disease

Work Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited three year fellowship in cardiology and cardio-oncology

  • Experiencing caring for cardiac patients who undergo chemotherapeutic treatment with cardio toxic drugs.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Advanced cardiology fellowship in advanced heart failure.

  • Boarded in cardio-oncology or other board certifications.

Work Experience: Graduating fellow or experience in managing cardio-oncology patients.

Job Duties Outlined:

  • Care for patients in the inpatient and ambulatory setting who have had a cancer diagnoses and treatment with cardio-toxic chemotherapy drugs.

  • Care for general cardiology patients or heart failure in the inpatient and ambulatory settings.        

  • Support call in a similar fashion as other cardiologists.

  • Other duties as assigned.
