For sports fans, the UTEP Miners offer exciting Division I college athletics at several campus venues including Sun Bowl Stadium, the Don Haskins Center, Kidd Field, University Field and the Helen of Troy Softball Complex. Southwest University Park, located a mile away in lively downtown El Paso, is home to the El Paso Chihuahuas, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, and the El Paso Locomotive, a professional soccer team founded in 2019.

The College of Nursing (CON) is located in the College of Health Sciences and Nursing building on the main campus. Facilities include a 16,000 square-foot Simulation Center, high-tech classrooms, conference rooms, an advising center, student study rooms and individual faculty offices. Educational programs include undergraduate and graduate programs. The undergraduate programs are a traditional four-year BSN and a yearlong online RN to BSN, the MSN programs are delivered in an online format and include Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, and six Practitioner programs (FNP, AGAC-NP, PNP-PC, PNP-AC, PMH-NP, and N-NP), and a five-semester long DNP program is taught in an on-campus, weekend format.

Job Description:

The University of Texas at El Paso College of Nursing invites applications for tenured/tenured-track faculty positions at the academic rank of Assistant or full Professor to begin in fall 2024. The tenured/tenure-track faculty appointment carries the expectation for teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level as appropriate. The successful tenure track Assistant Professor tenure candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an externally funded research program. The successful tenured full Professor candidate will be expected to conduct their established program of research. The candidates are expected to provide service within the College of Nursing, UTEP, the nursing profession, and local community.

There are two positions currently open, one Assistant Professor (tenured track) and one full Professor (tenured).

Requirements:

PhD in Nursing is preferred, PhD in a related field will be considered, MSN in Nursing, eligible for RN or APRN license in Texas.

At the full Professor rank, all candidates should have a strong record of scholarly achievement through publications and securing external grant funding, and a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness and community service.

At the early-career Assistant Professor rank, all candidates should demonstrate a strong potential to achieve the required qualifications.
