The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff.
A part-time faculty position (95%) is available in the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The individual in this position will join a growing translational research laboratory on bioactive carbohydrates in immunity. The laboratory uses a new Agilent QQQ for LC-MS analysis of bioactive carbohydrates. Stable funding for research is available for at least three years regarding glycans that influence infection by influenza, SARS-CoV-2, and other common respiratory pathogens of children. Research will involve mass spec analysis, mucosal immunology, pro-inflammatory signaling, and informatics analysis of -omic data.
The successful applicant will be expected to publish papers and submit competitive research grants pertaining to glycosylation of antibody and other immune proteins in the context of a collaborative team.
Terminal degree (MD, PhD) in life sciences is required.
