Description

Position Summary Assist in development of outreach and education plans that are effective in engaging new and current users of the Paustian group’s greenhouse gas emissions inventory tools. Assist in development of educational materials such as tutorials, help page content, and instructional videos to support the Paustian group’s greenhouse gas emissions inventory tools. Assist and/or lead education and guidance to users of the greenhouse gas inventory tools. Conduct testing of the Paustian group’s greenhouse gas emissions inventory tools to support outreach activities. Assist in communication with the greenhouse gas inventory tool user base using social media. Support other research through desktop analysis and field work, as needed. Occasional travel within the U.S. and to international destinations may be required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, soil science, forestry, animal science, natural resource management, environmental science, environmental education, or a related field in natural resources or agriculture. At least 1 year of experience doing technical writing or preparing web content in support of software, physical products, online instruction, or related products or processes. At least 1 year of experience in a position that requires regular one-on-one or public presentations of instructional or informative content to individuals or groups. At least 1 year of experience using social media to communicate with clients, associates, users, and other populations dependent upon a product or tool. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Preferring qualifications: At least 3 years work experience in agronomy, ecology, forestry, soil science, or a related natural resources field, either for or as an independent producer, for a natural resources services company, in academia, or a related sector. Additional post-graduate advanced coursework is preferable. Experience with adult education and developing content with accessibility standards in mind is preferred Experience with IT and/or web-based tool support is preferable. Experience with greenhouse gas modeling and accounting is preferable.
