Description of Work
Assistant Project Editor: Project edit original manuscripts as assigned each season; maintain project schedules, meet essential deadlines for editorial and production, and ensure quality control over assigned projects. Assist EDP manager with department administrative tasks.
Associate Project Editor: Project edit assigned number of original manuscripts each season; meet essential deadlines for copyediting, production, and final book preparation; maintain book delivery schedules; ensure quality control of assigned projects, including ebooks; assist in setting house style and maintaining style sheets; and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Assistant Project Editor: Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or similar field, equivalency considered. One (1) year experience as a copyeditor, project editor, project manager, or equivalent. Thorough knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style handbook. Keen sense of organization. Ability to communicate effectively, especially in writing. Understanding of copyright law. Good attention to detail. Understanding of work-for-hire contracts and permissions processes.
Associate Project Editor: Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or similar field; equivalency considered. 2 years experience as a copyeditor, project editor, project manager, or equivalent. Thorough knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style handbook. Keen sense of organization. Ability to communicate effectively, especially in writing. Understanding of copyright law. Good attention to detail. Understanding of work-for-hire contracts and permissions processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Assistant Project Editor: Experience using Scribe Well-Formed Document Workflow. Familiarity with publishing in ebook platform. Experience in working with databases and running reports.
Associate Project Editor: In-house experience in EDP function of scholarly publishing, including ebook production. Experience using Scribe Well-Formed Document Workflow. Familiarity with publishing in ebook platform. Experience in working with databases and running reports.
