Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Statistical Sciences in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology is accepting applications for its tenure track position as Assistant or Associate Professor of Statistics.

Qualifications


Minimum Required Education
Qualified candidates must complete all requirements for a Ph.D. or D.Sc. Degree in Statistics or Mathematics with emphasis on computation and the application of statistics outside of the discipline prior to the start of the Spring 2024 semester.
Minimum Required Experience
  • Experience in the use of mathematics or statistics in big data, computational mathematics or statistics, and data mining are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to research, teaching and service.
  • Required to direct graduate and undergraduate student research in mathematics and statistics.
  • Must demonstrate the potential for success in developing funded programs for the improvement of research and student learning.
Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
Doctoral Degree in Statistics or Applications of Mathematics to Data Science and artificial intelligence, preferred.
Qualifications
Ph.D or D.Sc. preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Computational programming with Mathematica, MATLAB and in®, and Python languages.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position involves teaching 12-hours a semester with a lighter load for graduate teaching, thesis advising, conducting research, and advising undergraduate and graduate students.
