Assistant or Associate Professor of Aviation Maintenance Technology

The Aviation Technology Division has educated thousands of aviation industry professionals and offers Associate of Applied Science degrees in Professional Pilot, Aviation Maintenance Technology, and Air Traffic Control in addition to a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management. The division’s maintenance training center and all of the aviation classes are located on Merrill Field, one of the busiest General Aviation airports in the nation, boosting 144,892 flight operations.

As an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Aviation Technology Division you will teach undergraduate courses in an FAA-approved Part 147 aviation maintenance technology program including aviation management and be expected to contribute to the development and expansion of the aviation programs.

Additionally, it is essential that faculty have the necessary aviation experience and credentials required for the position. Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology/Management; Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering/Engineering Technology/Technology; Career and Technical/Vocational Education; or equivalent OR an Associate Degree and three years of professional aviation maintenance experience.

Minimum 2 years full-time equivalent teaching OR a combination of 1 year full-time equivalent teaching plus 2 years of full-time equivalent of maintaining type certified aircraft is required.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Aviation Technology Complex on Merrill Field Airport, approximately two miles north of the UAA campus, in Anchorage, AK. Flexible in-person and online teaching schedules may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month base faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package .
