Assistant or Associate Professor, Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training
 
The Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at the University of Utah is seeking an experienced and established faculty candidate for their Athletic Training program. The position is a full-time tenure-line faculty at an assistant or associate professor rank, commensurate with academic experience and scholarly accomplishment.
 
Primary responsibilities include:
·         Develop and maintain a scholarly research program that will augment the department’s research success and collaborate across the University of Utah Health Sciences Center
·         Seek and obtain external funding
·         Recruit, advise, and mentor students enrolled in the professional Master of Athletic Training program and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Rehabilitation Science program
·         Teach in area of expertise within the Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Science programs
·         Perform service as appropriate to the department, college, university, profession, and community
 
Degree requirement:
·         Applicants should have an earned relevant terminal degree (doctorate) before the start of the appointment
 
Minimum qualifications:
·         Show evidence of significant scholarly accomplishment
·         Conduct research that has substantial potential for acquiring external funding
·         Proficiency in college-level teaching
·         Be able to obtain athletic training licensure in the state of Utah
 
Desired qualifications:
·         Postdoctoral training experience, if no prior experience as a faculty member

The Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training is located within the College of Health and is part of the University of Utah Health.
