The William A. Brookshire Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Houston (UH) seeks to hire one tenure-track or tenured faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with research interests in the broad area of Biomolecular Engineering. Competitive candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (or closely related discipline) before starting the position and show potential for exceptional research and excellence in teaching and service. The successful candidate will be appointed at a rank commensurate with accomplishments and expertise.
We are particularly seeking faculty candidates who will develop an externally-funded research program aimed at overcoming grand challenges in the broad field of Biomolecular Engineering. Example areas of interest include immunoengineering, diagnostics, synthetic biology, biologics, cellular engineering, and cancer. Candidates with research focused on cancer might also be eligible to apply for the CPRIT Scholar award (https://www.cprit.texas.gov/grants-funded/cprit-scholars ). The Department has a strong graduate program with more than 100 PhD students, modern research facilities, and annual research expenditures exceeding $10 million. The successful candidate will join a collegial group of research-oriented faculty working in a highly collaborative environment.

Our faculty enjoy active collaborations with the nearby medical institutions like MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, etc.
