As the assistant manager of Art’s, you will coordinate food service activities as part of a fast, fresh, and healthy fare, including whole-fruit smoothies, wraps, coffee and espresso, an array of fresh-squeezed juices, and an assortment of grab-and-go snacks and meal bars. In this role you will oversee all baristas; estimate food, beverage, and supply costs; and confer with food preparations to plan menus and related activities. Responsibilities will include inspecting food and preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations, investigating and resolving food quality and service complaints, reviewing financial transactions, and monitoring the budget to ensure efficient operations.

The assistant manager will communicate with and train staff to maintain a high standard of store operations and positively reinforce successful performances by giving constructive, respectful, and encouraging feedback. You will assist in staff training, customer service, and product knowledge and education while encouraging safe work practices. In this role, you will help the store manager maintain a positive, clean, organized, and stocked environment. Additionally, you will ensure all cash handling procedures are upheld and be accountable for store funds while running a shift.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree; or at least one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  •  Strong customer service skills and management oversight experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Barista experience
  • Supervisory experience

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Approved as a SCAD-authorized driver

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
