Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | To assist the Manager of Piped Services in providing leadership and general oversight of administrative and expert technical supervision of personnel in the general and daily operations of an assigned unit/team in the Piped Services unit, including technical support in the use of electronic and digital devices to locate underground utilities, test and certify backflow prevention, equipment installations and troubleshoot equipment problems. Supervise the technical maintenance work/installation services, including all underground utilities (water, gas, sanitary and/or steam) and all building piped services. This position is responsible for the supervision of Plumbers, Plumber Specialists, and a MT Multi Trades Chief I. |

Physical Demands | Incumbent is an Essential employee and is subject to a 24-hour day, 7-day week span of operation. Essential category is Catastrophic and Weather/Other. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Must be able to work in, on, over and under fixed equipment and machinery; to work from lifts, ladders and scaffolding; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools and supplies and/or exert force up to 70 lbs.; to concurrently manipulate multiple controls on equipment and machinery; to work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces, and adverse weather or temperature conditions; to wear and work in personal protective equipment. Incumbent is required to wear safety footwear provided by the university. |
