PM Assistant Manager

Responsibility is to assist the Carl's Jr. Manager in all staff hiring, training, supervision, evaluating, disciplining, and employee development. The Assistant Manager must maintain high standards of food service quality, health and safety. They must assist the Manager to ensure the efficient and profitable financial performance of the food service operations and the optimal utilization of staff and resources. The position of Assistant Manager is expected to be committed to Cal State Fullerton’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and will be required to model an inclusive environment and management style. 

Essential Duties

  • Interact with customers, students, faculty, staff and other campus guests providing excellent and inclusive customer service 
  • Manage the hands on day-to-day activities of the concepts, administrative responsibilities, and general maintenance 
  • Assists with interviews, hiring , training, coaching, and performance reviews  
  • Demonstrates the ability to appropriately delegate to others 
  • Identify and estimate food and beverage supply requirements and place orders with suppliers
  • Demonstrates the ability to use and adjust production control systems 
  • Oversee preparation of food and beverage items
  • Conduct physical inventory count once a month or as needed
  • Use Point of Sale system and Active Cashier (Mobile Orders) to accurately and promptly take and process customer orders 
  • Handle cash, debit and credit card transactions
  • Assist with food preparation as needed 
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work location and equipment, including but not limited, to front of the house, back of the house, dining area, and restroom 
  • Hold all team members accountable to company policies, procedures and operating principles and report any issues to the Manager 
  • Supports Manager in the day to day management of the store and in their absence
  • Continually review concept operations to identify any problems, concerns and opportunities for improvement and report to the Manager
  • Monitor adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards in kitchen and operations
  • Complete CSU and ASC mandatory trainings as directed
  • Promotes an inclusive environment of teamwork and leads to ensure Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is practiced/applied in department operations, programs, and services
 OTHER DUTIES:
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of fast food management/leadership experience.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Ability to promote and prioritize Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
