Job Description Summary:

To provide customer service assistance to students, faculty, and staff. Provides clerical and administrative support to the Riverside Learning Lab.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Performs office duties in support of faculty, staff, and/or student efforts, including word processing, data entry, maintaining files, processing mail, and duplication. 

  • Assist students with basic computer functions unrelated to academics (e.g., saving a document, formatting a paper, copying and pasting, printing, logging onto the internet)

  • Gathers, compiles, and enters data, producing routine reports and documents. 

  • Produces handouts, fliers, newsletters, brochures, manuals, and other documents.

  • Answers the telephone, routes calls, or takes messages; responds to and/or directs inquiries in person or on the telephone.

  • May input budget figures, prepares requisitions, logs and tracks expenditures, takes payments, or issues invoices or bills. 

  • Maintains tracking systems and logs.  Operates office equipment such as copiers and fax machines. 

Knowledge

  • Office procedures and practices.
  • Customer service techniques.
  • Working knowledge of computers and computer applications
  • Use of Zoom, Blackboard, and other academic technologies is a plus

  • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Maintaining an established work schedule.
  • Effectively using interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effectively using organizational and planning skills.
  • Entering data, maintaining files, and performing other clerical duties.

Technology Skills

  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
  • May also use social media, work with desktop publishing, and update webpages.
  • Ability to operate computers and tablet devices.
  • Ability to operate projectors, microphones, and other AV technologies is a plus

Required Work Experience

  • As required.

Required Education Experience

  • High school diploma or educational equivalent. An Associate’s Degree is a plus

Shift Days/Hours

  • Monday-Thursday 3:15pm-8pm this position is not eligible for remote work.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is routinely performed in a standard office or similar environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Safety

  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

$22.00/hour
