Provide strategic assistance to the General Manager in the oversight, operation and support for the recruiting and evaluation of high school prospects, transfer portal prospects, and retention of the current football roster. Provide oversight and strategic analysis for a comprehensive recruiting strategy utilizing data-driven insights and industry best practices to carry out the operational requirements of a cohesive and high-performing team consistent with the mission and values of Oklahoma Football.
Essential Functions:
- Implementation and strategic oversight of the recruiting processes of prospective student athletes
- Implementation and strategic oversight of the scouting processes of prospective student athletes
- Oversight and management of team roster
- Oversight and management of team scholarship numbers
- Provide strategic oversight of recruiting endeavors aligned with team roster demands
- Provide strategic oversight of prospective talent to align with team objectives and needs
- Oversight of the recruiting “War Room” process and management
Job Requirements
---
Required Education: A Bachelor’s degree, AND:
- 3 years' experience in football or athletics.
Skills:
- Experience in managing budgets with various levels and the ability to use existing resources efficiently to align with departmental budgetary goals
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with students, colleagues, staff, and administrators
- Ability to work under pressure to manage and coordinate multiple projects and requests and meet competing deadlines
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of collegiate athletic programs and operation units
- Knowledge of and commitment to comply with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations
- Knowledge of recruiting management system
- Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to work long and odd hours, often weekends and potentially holidays during variety of events and camps/clinics
- Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and travel
Supervision: Recruiting Department - Player Personnel
Department Preferences:
- Prior scouting knowledge
- Prior knowledge of player evaluations
- Experience managing others
