Assistant Football Coach

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Iowa State University Athletics Department is accepting applications for an Assistant Football Coach to assist the Head Coach with all phases of the NCAA Division I FBS program including planning practice sessions and competitive coaching situations; identifying and successfully recruiting academically qualified and athletically talented student-athletes; effectively teaching, mentoring and coaching to develop well-rounded student-athletes; analyzing scouting reports and pre-competition evaluations of opponents; and ensuring academic progress and graduation. The Assistant Coach will also perform administrative duties as assigned, with a commitment to adhering to University, Big 12 Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, and regulations. Will contribute to and enhance a competitive athletic experience. Will establish and maintain an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the student-athletes. Will establish and maintain effective interactions with the students, colleagues, university community, alumni, media and the public.
This position requires a high level of football knowledge, an excellent work ethic along with strong motivational, teaching/coaching and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to travel extensively including overnight stays for recruiting and competitions.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Experience coaching or competing in football at a highly competitive level (post high school).
Successful collegiate and/or professional football experience.
Coaching experience at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level.
Proven ability to recruit and coach highly skilled student-athletes.
Knowledge and expertise working with a specialty area/position, based on current need.
Regular with Term Appointment (Fixed Term)
