Undergraduate Admissions:

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions supports the university in meeting its strategic enrollment goals and fulfilling the UCF Strategic Plan. It is responsible for coordinating the identification, recruitment, admission and enrollment of all undergraduate first-time-in-college, transfer, non-degree, dual enrollment, early admission, and non-Florida public institution transient students. The office leverages the UCF brand to market, communicate and engage with broadly diverse, talented, and academically qualified students who will enrich our community and achieve academic and personal excellence.

The Opportunity:

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions seek qualified applicants for the role of Assistant Director, University Admissions. This position coordinates the recruitment and enrollment of target populations of students who want to attend the university. Through this, the Assistant Director manages and oversees the Scholars Program and is charged with recruiting National Merit/Benacquisto Scholars, and other high ability/academically talented students.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in the management, administration and implementation of all university policies and procedures related to the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of undergraduate students.

  • Maintains accurate enrollment data and assists in providing periodic and annual reports.

  • Counsels prospective students on the opportunities available at the university and the admission application process. This counseling takes place through in-person and virtual meetings, information sessions, webinars, electronic communications, phone calls, social media, and other communication platforms as designated.

  • Reviews and evaluates admission applications and academic credentials. Computes high school and college grade point averages for applicants in compliance with the State of Florida and university admissions standards.

  • Renders admission decisions on these applications.

  • Represents the university at public and private high school/college visitations (including conferring with college counselors and student groups), college nights and panel presentations to parents, students and other constituent populations.

  • Supervises three Student Admission Counselor II positions.

  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the Director for Recruitment and External Relations and the interim Associate Vice President for Enrollment Planning and Management.

  • Responsible for confidential files of applicants for admission to the university and the adequate safekeeping of this information. Responsible for maintaining secure computer files including, but not limited to, application and scholarship status.

  • Responsible for the continuous review, improvement, and execution of the functions related to all areas of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of target market segments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and 4+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with at least 1+ year(s) of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6)

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in developing, planning, and implementing an admissions recruitment, marketing, and enrollment plan

  • Experience working with high achievers and other target populations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • A strong sense of initiative and creativity

  • Previous experience in admissions, especially in supervision

  • Program development experience is highly desired.

  • Marketing experience is a plus.
