Position Summary and Duties
Assist Director Title IX, Compliance and Assessment in the development and implementation of strategies to maintain and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws including Title IX.  Coordinate the processing of complaints and investigations involving faculty, staff, administrators, and students. Provide training on prevention, education, and trauma informed response programs related to sexual misconduct, gender violence, sexual assault and related policies. Ensure compliance with the Title IX of the Higher Education Act of 1964 as amended in 1972 and related grievance processes. Assist in fostering a safe and supportive environment conducive to a successful educational environment. Assist with the reviewing student development, external affairs compliance and program reports; ensure programs are consistent with state, local, and federal laws related to requirements for higher education. Develop and implement assessment tools and metrics; and monitor programs to assess and promote continuous improvement of the student experience and institutional effectiveness at Loyola.
Program Development and Implementation:
Work collaboratively with colleagues in Student Development, Human Resources (HR), Academic Affairs, Mission and Ministry, Athletics, and Office of Equity and Inclusion to provide training, informational materials and consultation to faculty, staff, and administrators connected to the University’s commitment to provide a safe, health working and learning environment for all.  Ensure NCAA Title IX compliance. Support the University in areas such as admissions, financial aid, student affairs, athletics, housing, facilities, and academic programs as it relates to gender equity. 
Monitor Title IX training for university faculty, staff, administrators, students, investigators, deputy coordinators, Intake officers, and hearing board members as needed.  Provide and monitor training programs as needed. 
Plan, coordinate, administer and evaluate programs and services in compliance with federal, state, local, and university standards.
Complaint Adjudication:
Serve as Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students.  Assist in selection of deputy coordinators and intake officers as needed and provide training/support as needed.  Collaborate with the Office of Student Conduct, the Women’s center, and Public Safety.
Maintain Title IX policies, procedures, and processes; assist with the prompt, effective and impartial investigations and resolution of sex-and gender related complaints by assisting individuals who wish to file complaints or who are guiding others through the process.
Receive and process inquiries, consultation, or complaints related to the University’s Sexual Misconduct policy or other Title IX related complaints.  Conduct informal inquiries and coordinate formal investigations for students. 
Under the supervision of the Director, ensuring campus-wide compliance and work done by HR colleagues.
 
Serve as a liaison to provide information on available resources, programs and/or services.
Data Assessment: 
Compile and analyze a variety of complex data; performs statistical analysis and summarizes findings, build assessment tools to monitor campus perceptions related to Title IX.  
Prepare findings and assist in monitoring action steps toward continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness. Manage a formal assessment process to assess all  interactions with students, faculty and staff and the Title IX Intake Officers’ interactions with students. 
Prepare appropriate reports as needed that will assess and improve programmatic functions.  
Will use Maxient and other systems as needed for record keeping. 
Maintain up to date information and knowledge of federal, state, and local laws that may impact the University.  Collaborate with Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) to ensure understanding of upcoming legislation related to Title IX and VAWA
Assist with the periodic review of all University Title IX programs, ADA 504 programs, and action steps.  Assist with solutions and monitor improvement actions as needed. 
Assist with memorandums of understandings (MOU), vendor selection,  vendor management of contracted relationships related to Title IX such as hospitals, local police, investigators, training contracts and content, and other consultants as needed.  
Keep current on best practices as they relate to institutions of higher education complying with federal/state laws in the areas of Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, ADA & 504, ADEA, FERPA, NCAA, and other applicable statutes. 
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, and 3-  5 years of related work experience. 
 
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with laws that relate to higher education and govern conduct processes, such as due process and FERPA.
  • Trained in best practices in investigations of Title IX and other forms of discrimination and harassment based on protective classes.
  • Awareness of current trends and best practices in Title IX programs and communities of higher education.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ability to empathize with people who have experienced forms of bias, harassment, and/or violence based on their identity.
  • Demonstrated ability to be fair and gain the trust of others in responding to complaints and conflict situations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively and sensitively with individuals who have experienced sexual harassment, including sexual violence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong research and investigatory skills, including thorough record keeping utilizing a variety of tools and/or case management software.
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in working with diverse cultures (e.g., people who identify as LGBTQ, a racial and/or ethnic minority, etc.) and faculty from varied disciplines.
  • Demonstrated or expressed commitment to the educational development in a campus community.
  • 3 – 5 years of related experience.
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to supporting inclusive practices and working with diverse communities.
  • Experience with conducting investigations and writing reports.
