Description of Work Unit
The Student Resolution Center (SRC) supports the developmental, behavioral, and educational needs of students. Through a myriad of approaches the SRC strives to maximize individual student success while upholding community standards and helping students overcome mistakes.
The SRC aims to assist, educate and support CSU students through two processes:
• Conflict Resolution – voluntary, neutral, confidential process to assist students when conflicts, disputes or issues arise.
• Student Conduct – one-on-one meetings to discuss alleged violations of the Student Conduct Code, hear perspectives, explore personal responsibility, hold students accountable and provide educational and restorative outcomes when appropriate.

Position Summary
This Assistant Director will collaborate with campus and community partners to support and promote positive behavior from student organizations. This position will have primary responsibility for the oversight and adjudication of conduct cases for student organizations, playing a critical role intervening in student and organizational misconduct, facilitating a fair disciplinary process and promoting student development.
Required Job Qualifications
• Master’s degree required in student personnel, higher education, counseling, or related field
• Three years full-time professional experience in student affairs at the college or university level
• Experience working with student conduct processes and adjudicating student conduct cases
• Experience with recognized student organizations (sport clubs, fraternities, sororities, etc.)
Preferred Job Qualifications
• Demonstrated written communication experience such as reports, professional correspondence, presentation content and materials, etc.
• Highly developed organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and manage complex cases.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, flexibility, and ability to work through new challenges as they arise.
• Direct experience utilizing data to inform practices.
• Direct experience working with student organization conduct processes.
• Knowledge of issues and challenges facing undergraduate students in general and members of recognized student organizations.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.

• Play a leadership role in ongoing visioning, strategic planning, program review, and assessment strategies for the SRC
• Serve as the Chairperson for the University Hazing Prevention Committee and use data to strategize implementation of campus-wide effective hazing prevention initiatives for student organizations (to include National Hazing Prevention Week programming)
• Serve as the Chairperson of the Lead Team to make critical decisions related to student organization conduct processes
• Direct student organization conduct policy, protocol, and processes
• Review and make recommendations/edits related to the Student Conduct Code • Exhibit and execute a working knowledge and understanding of the concepts of student development, hazing, substance misuse, differences between individual student conduct and student organization conduct processes, student rights and responsibilities, due process, legal issues related to campus disciplinary programs, and University policy and procedure, navigating student organization and campus partner policies, needs, and insights
• Exhibit and execute a working knowledge and application of requirements for the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, the Clery Act, the Violence Against Women Act and Title IX

Job Duty Category Student Conduct Adjudication and Risk Management
Duty/Responsibility
• Adjudicate alleged misconduct for student organizations and individual students.
• Determine and assign effective sanctions that emphasize restorative practices, education, student development and responsible behavior. 
• Understand and implement appropriate basic threat assessment protocols and collaborate with campus and community partners including but not limited to: Support and Safety Assessment, Student Case Management, the Women and Gender Advocacy Center, the CSU Police Department, Fort Collins Police Services, the 8th Judicial District and Fort Collins Municipal Court. 
• Advocate for students’ rights, due process, and fundamental fairness in an educational and supportive environment.
• Manage ongoing student organization conduct caseload. Ensure timely follow-up on each case and maintain open communication with impacted campus partners
• Manage the student organization investigation process. Compile and analyze information gathered to successfully determine next steps for an organization in the conduct process
• Monitor student organization compliance with all sanctions imposed through the student conduct process.
• Serve on the fraternity and sorority harm reduction and risk management workgroup, including the maintenance and ongoing review of the Fraternity and Sorority Joint Policy on Risk Management
• Screen applicants for admission to evaluate behavior concerns based on prior/pending criminal or disciplinary history.

• Recruit, train, and deliver professional development opportunities to the University Investigation Team, which investigates alleged student organization misconduct in a timely way • Train and advise the All University Hearing Board (AUHB)
• Train and advise the Fraternity and Sorority Joint Judicial Board (JJB), which adjudicates fraternity and sorority community policies
• Design and implement educational curriculum and opportunities for student organizations related to the student conduct process, self-governance, prevention initiatives, and relevant University policies • Facilitate educational programming/workshops offered through the Student Resolution Center.
• Serve as a consultant for student organizations regarding internal standards/“judicial” processes
