Job Description

This position may pay more than the minimum proposed salary listed above, depending on experience and/or qualifications of the selected candidate.

Assists in publicity efforts for all sponsored sports, including writing press releases and feature stories. Produces and edits game programs, game notes, and media guides. Assists with maintenance of the Athletic Department’s Web site.


Responsibilities:

  • Assists in publicity efforts for all sponsored sports, including writing press releases and feature stories; producing and editing game programs, game notes and media guides; helping to maintain historical records; distributes athletic information to all media outlets; and assists in the relations with local, regional and national media

  • Assists in the maintenance of the official web site

  • Assists with game-day operations, including media relations, game management and statistical services

  • Trains and supervises graduate students, student workers and game-day staff


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports journalism, sports administration, public relations, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. .

  • Two years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated strong writing and verbal skills; Web design and basic computer application experience;

  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to perform under deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
