Position Title ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/SEXUAL AGGRESSION SERVICES & SEXUAL AGGRESSION DEDICATED COUNSELOR
Position Summary
Assists with the overall administration and operation of the Sexual Aggression Services Office, including the coordination of the Sexual Aggression Peer Advocate (SAPA) program. Provides sexual aggression dedicated counseling services to CMU students through the Counseling Center.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or related field.
Must posses or be eligible for license in the State of Michigan.
One year post licensure experience in mental health counseling.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, strong communication skills, as well as commitment to workplace integrity and professional ethics.
Strong clinical skills in working with a range of mental health concerns, including trauma.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant experience with sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking and/or harassment.
Experience with crisis intervention and/or after hours on call.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reports to program Director for administrative responsibilities.
Provides outreach & consultation for Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates (SAPA), students, faculty and staff regarding any issues relating to sexual aggression.
Provides processing and debriefing opportunities for SAPA advocates.
Assists in the day-to-day operations of CMU Sexual Aggression Services including recruitment, outreach efforts, training, and graduate assistant transitions.
Assists in collaborating with campus partners, leaders, and community organizations on and off campus to develop and maintain an innovative, coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to providing survivor centered services, education, and risk reduction programming.
After hours on-call availability while SAPA is in operation.
Meets with the Director and Graduate Assistant of Sexual Aggression Services weekly.
Counseling Center responsibilities – Sexual Aggression Dedicated Counselor:
Reports to the Counseling Center Executive Director for Counseling Center responsibilities.
Provides individual and group counseling services to primary and secondary survivors of sexual aggression.
Provides consultation and in-service training to Counseling Center staff as requested.
Attends Counseling Center staff case consultation, administrative and professional development meetings.
Adheres to Counseling Center scope of practice and procedures.
Must possess the ability to maintain the strictest standards of confidentiality as defined by Michigan law and the ethical standards of the discipline.
Maintains a licensure to provide confidential mental health services in the State of Michigan and meets any related professional development requirements for that license.

About the Department
The Office of Sexual Aggression Services serves those impacted by sexual aggression through advocacy, support, education, and empowerment with 24/7 confidential services, awareness outreach activities, and educational programs. Services are available to CMU students, faculty, staff, and community members.
The Counseling Center provides free and confidential, short term counseling services to currently enrolled CMU students dealing with personal issues that may negatively impact their academic success, interpersonal relationships, health, or well-being. Services are provided in person and via tele-mental health and offered in a variety of formats. The Counseling Center recognizes that each student is a unique individual with different stories, experiences, and needs.
