Essential Job Duties | University Housing at NC State University seeks an Assistant Director to provide leadership and direction for housing functions of a residential area ranging between 4-8 communities. The residential area oversees between 2,000-2,500 residents, directly supervises 4 Residence Life Coordinators and indirectly supervises 4 Graduate Assistants for Residence Life and all student staff within the residential area. The Assistant Director is responsible for all administrative processes, coordinates internally and externally to manage projects that impact the residential area, and manages area budgets. The Assistant Director provides leadership within Residence Life and is a member of the University Housing Leadership team. The Assistant Director oversees a portion of the overall University Housing inventory, supporting and implementing University Housing’s mission, vision, and values within their specific residential area. The Assistant Director aids in the development and management of staff and programs that serve the needs of residents in their area of responsibility. Although the position is live-out, it requires some night and weekend work in order to support the campus community. Person is expected to respond back to campus within 30 minutes or less to provide leadership and support during emergency situations after hours. The Assistant Director also has the responsibility to return to campus as needed to support live-in staff in responding to major emergencies. |
