Position Summary
This position will play a critical role in the leadership of the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Center (RSVP) by assisting the director and the team of staff in ensuring the center provides trauma-informed inclusive services and evidence-based programming related to sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape, dating or domestic violence, and stalking. The assistant director (AD) will assume a crucial role in the anti-bias, anti-racism work of the center. The AD will assume responsibilities for critical decisions regarding clinical care, employee support, and unforeseen demands on the center, should the director be unreachable. Additionally, the AD will be responsible for day-to-day operations in the absence of the director. Regular job duties include serving as a primary counselor, management of clinical case conference and clinical groups to include assessment, evaluation, budgets, and practicum student oversight.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Offers continued care and support, including counseling services, accommodations, education, and advocacy in navigating hospital care, insurance concerns, reporting options, and access to necessary community resources, with a particular focus on marginalized and vulnerable communities.
- Jointly, with the RSVP Center counseling staff, provides confidential 24/7 crisis response services for the campus community.
- Coordinates and leads consultation meetings for licensed counseling staff; provide guidance to other counseling staff in absence of the director.
- Manages clinical staff, including assessment and evaluation.
- Supervises graduate practicum students who are doing research, evaluation, program development and graduate advising for the RSVP Center. Coordinates site visits and evaluations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Counseling experience with college students and trauma; demonstrated knowledge and use of trauma informed practices.
- Experience working with marginalized and vulnerable communities.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
- Experience working with adolescents or traditionally college aged students.
- Demonstrated self-initiative and ability to do multifaceted work.
- Budget management experience.
- Solid presentation and facilitation experience.
- Multicultural and identity-based understanding of the intersections and impacts of relationship and sexual violence.
- Strong counseling, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion, good judgement, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong management and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Critical thinking skills.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, public health, or women, gender and sexuality studies (or a similar field and three (3) years of experience working in areas of relationship and sexual violence counseling or support services or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- LPC, LCSW, PsyD, licensed psychologist, or similar counseling licensure.

Salary Range
$57,300.00 - $97,700.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
