Job Summary

The Office of Future Engineers (OFE) is responsible for outreach and recruitment for all undergraduate students in the College of Engineering. As a key member of the OFE leadership team, the Assistant Director, Recruitment will focus on recruiting and yielding students from college-defined strategic populations, such as first-generation students, rural students, underrepresented minority students, women students, etc.  This position will significantly collaborate with the Minority Engineering Program, the Women in Engineering Program, and the College of Engineering in recruitment and pre-college student engagement activities. This position will participate in the development, execution and assessment of programs

 

This West Lafayette based position will require some evening and weekend hours, including travel within the state of Indiana with possible overnight stays. Flexible and hybrid work may be possible in accordance with university policy and departmental needs.

What We Are Looking For

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree 
  • Four (4) years of experience in any of the following or related areas: recruitment, communications, teaching, advising, mentoring
  • Preference given to those who have worked with diverse student populations in high schools or universities

 

Skills Needed:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills, relationship building skills, organizational skills
