Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Pre-College Recruitment is responsible for developing and executing the recruitment strategy for new lead generation, the conversion of lead to enrollment of high qualified and diverse students for the Pre-College programs, ensuring that recruitment activities, communications, and processes are high quality and support the mission of the Pre-College programs.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for prospective student and applicant lead generation through multiple channels, both domestic and international, including the cultivation of new and maintenance of existing relationships with stakeholders at relevant feeder organizations and institutions, participate in relevant fairs and conferences, conduct information sessions both in-person and virtually, and identify new and emerging recruitment opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive recruitment plan for the Pre-College Programs that includes the proposal and management of an annual recruitment budget,, the creation and coordination of regional recruitment activities and information session schedule executed in partnership with the Admissions Officers, international recruitment executed in partnership with the Director of International Recruitment, and the creation and maintenance of collateral materials and swag.
  • In partnership with the Executive Director of Admissions, create and maintain recruitment and applicant conversion communication plans and individual communications, and monitor the effectiveness of communications throughout the admissions cycle, proposing content changes that will increase new leads, application starts, and enrollments.
  • Ensures website content is appropriate to support recruitment and enrollment, providing recommendations and content for new cycle launches and ongoing as needed.
  • Monitor recruitment travel and associated expenditures for all Pre-College recruitment activities for the admissions team, including tracking impact to evaluate recruitment effectiveness; track year over year recruitment activity and results; provide creative and cost-effective ideas to increase innovation in recruitment strategies.
  • Support tracking and analyzing data to better understand non-start reasons for admitted populations, and oversee an annual competitor analysis, which the Assistant Director will use to make improvements in the application process, recruitment efforts, and communications.
  • Oversee recruitment projects executed by Admissions Officers such as the Student Ambassadors, ensuring that the projects align with the overall recruitment strategy, and that efforts are tracked and evaluated for quality and impact.
  • Oversee social media strategy for Pre-College programs in partnership with Marketing and the Executive Director of Admissions; create and manage content; oversee posting to ensure quality; and evaluate metrics to determine impact and future strategy.
  • Oversee collaborations for the Admissions Team, maintaining detailed knowledge of collaborations and the applicable application requirement details, and ensure Admissions Officers and temporary staff are aware of collaborator details; work closely with Academic Affairs and other relevant team members as new collaborations are being developed to communicate admissions standards, application requirements, and document partner requirements; and recommend new collaboration opportunities.
  • Assist with application reading, process forms, respond to phone calls and emails, and respond to escalated applicant, prospective student and parent issues using sound reasoning and judgment.
  • Assist with school-wide events such as orientations and graduation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent related experience required
  • Four years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reviewing admissions applications
  • Experience reviewing high school transcripts
  • Experience reviewing and/or processing international applications and related materials
  • Familiarity with international education systems
  • Fluency in a language other than English; Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, or Arabic preferred

Other Requirements

  • Must have a willingness to travel both domestically and internationally for recruitment activities during peak recruiting seasons
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support recruitment activities
  • High energy and passion for recruiting, relationship building and student success
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Background in recruitment, admissions or similar field
  • Demonstrated experience using a relational database, online application system, and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, ideally in an admissions setting
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn, SIS, Slate, and other systems, applications, and software used by the University and the School
  • Experience writing effective persuasive communications and giving persuasive presentations
  • Experience with de-escalation and handling escalated customer/client situations
  • Proven track record identifying and implementing improvements to streamline and/or automate complex processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organization and time management skills, and the ability to perform routine and non-routine work with changing priorities
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities, both as an independent entity and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative team setting and provide effective constructive feedback to colleagues
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a mature, professional manner
  • Adaptability and flexibility in working in a fast-paced environment
