Job Description

Direct responsibility for management, including budget, equipment, personnel, and programming for the intramural sports program.  Recruits and trains supervisors and other personnel necessary to operate the intramural program.  Assists in the overall management of Recreational Sports, it's facilities and programs.  Some nights and weekend work required

Responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains, schedules, and evaluates intramural supervisors and officials
  • Develops goals and objectives on a yearly basis and develops procedures and programs to meet those goals and objectives. 
  • Conducts periodic evaluations of operations, personnel, and use of resources and program
  • Works with assistant directors in the operation of the Virgil Henson Activities Center.
  • Develops strategies to market and promote programs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of related experience in recreational sports, including related supervisory experience
  • Requires an understanding of student development theory in context of recreational sports. 
  • Public relation skills.
  • Excellent, communication and administrative skills, customer service skills.
  • High energy level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Experience with intramurals and sports clubs in a university setting
  • NIRSA Certifications
  • Computer experience
  • Understands processes of the University
