Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director, Programs and Traditions - Boca Raton, FL

Summary of Responsibilities:

Administration and Supervision

This team member will provide support to the Student Activities and Involvement Office and the overall function of the Division of Student Affairs. Essential responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise, train and evaluate assigned student employees and interns.

  • Recruit for, supervise, train and evaluate the Street Team for heritage months programming and Identity recognition days Ambassadors.

  • Assist in the development and advisement of multicultural Registered Student Organizations.

  • Track student engagement data, collect key performance indicators, create areas specific goals, and assist with the end of the year report.

  • Stay current on best/common practices related to campus activities and overall student experience.

  • Collaborates with other divisional departments to promote the development of programs and events aimed at celebrating heritage months and identity recognition days and creating a sense of belonging.

  • Assist the Student Activities and Involvement office with signature events.

  • Participate in institutional, divisional, and department-wide events as required.

  • Work closely with the assessment team in order to continuously review, assess, and improve all programs.

Student Government Advising

  • Advise Student Government programming branches, including but not limited to weekly events and Student Government signature programs

  • Participate in the hiring, selection, confirmation, training, and evaluation of the Director, Associate Director, and Event chairs.

  • Assist with the management of A&S related budgets, including developing budget proposals, while engaging in budget review and monitoring processes.

  • Provide on-site support at student government events which take place at night and on weekends.

  • Performing other job-related duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.

Salary:

$50,000 per year
