Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of the Clinical Learning Resource Center (CLRC) is responsible for the overall management and operations of the five multi-faceted cutting-edge CLRCs across Texas. The individual in this position represents the Center Director through managing customer relationships and collaboration with medical and nursing faculty, vendors, and CLRC staff to ensure the accurate and timely execution of the CLRC mission. The CLRC Assistant Director for Operations is responsible for cradle to grave planning, quality assurance, employee performance management, and implementation of CLRC events. This Assistant Director ensures customer relationships are developed and maintained by staff in accordance with the TAMU core values (excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect, and selfless service). This position is also responsible for ensuring participants' safety; implementing effective, healthcare simulation standards of best practice; and the accurate and timely completion of administrative actions, financial reports, purchasing actions, and invoicing completed. This staff position reports to the CLRC Center Director and is a member of the CLRC Strategic Management Team.


Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Five years of related experience.

Preferred Education:

  • MS, BSN / MSN or Degree in healthcare simulation.

Preferred Experience:

  • Two years of clinical experience.
  • Four years of supervisory management or clinical student supervision.
  • Two years of program management/events planning experience.
  • Two years in healthcare education, simulation, or directly applicable field.
  • Experience in higher education, healthcare technology, and/or business.
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.

Preferred Licenses and Certifications:

  • CHSOS – Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist.
  • CHSE – Certified Health Simulation Educator.
  • Current (within last five years) healthcare certification or license.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
  • Standard office equipment: computer, keyboard, multifunctional printer, telephone.
  • This position is security sensitive.
  • This position may require some work beyond normal work hours.
  • This position may require 20% or more domestic and/or international travel as assigned.
  • This position requires compliance with TAMUS/Texas A&M Health Science Center and CLRC Policies and Procedures.
  • All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and Agency safety requirements.

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Clinical care equipment.
  • Human Patient Simulators / Medical procedure simulators.
  • Audio / visual equipment, including CCTV technologies, microphones, and Crestron systems.


Responsibilities:

Program Management Duties: Responsible for ensuring the physical and psychological safety of all vendors, faculty, students, and CLRC staff. Develops proposals and budgets for the delivery of high-fidelity clinical learning experiences. Drafts and negotiates applicable scopes of work for CLRC events and services. Coordinates and collaborates with faculty, staff, and partners as needed to develop and implement tailored high-fidelity experiential clinical learning experiences. Reports updates and milestones to the Center Director. Plans, directs, and coordinates operational and procedural matters to meet CLRC goals and objectives. Trains and develops faculty and staff in accordance with accreditation requirements. Assists the Center Director in the management of the CLRC employee performance management program. Monitors compliance with all unit, department, University, and government standards, policies, and procedures. Handles special projects as assigned by the Director. Provides supervision and guidance to each of the CLRC site managers.

Leadership Duties: Member of the CLRC Strategic Management Team. Represents the CLRC on various committees within the TAM HSC and Texas A&M University. Serves as the acting center director (2IC) in the absence of the Director. Assists the Director by participating in the development and implementation of strategic plans based on the CLRC mission and goals.

Customer Relations Management Duties: Builds and maintains relationships with key customers, staff, faculty, partners, and collaborators. Provides outstanding customer service. Learns key customer needs and addresses them. Conducts business reviews using CRM programs. Maintains communications with internal and external customers on CLRC updates and services. Establishes and maintains the quality assurance program for the CLRC. Monitors and ensures customer satisfaction database is monitored and addressed. Tracks and resolves customer complaints quickly and efficiently. Follows up on business opportunity leads. Tracks project timelines and deliverables.  

Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
