Creighton University is seeking to hire an Assistant Director for the Office of Student and Family Support.

 

The Office of Student and Family Support is an important part of the services provided in the Division of Student Success. The Office is focused on the University’s commitment to offering support to all students, parents, and families. As part of Student Success, Student & Family Support uses a holistic approach to problem-solve through challenges that arise during a student's time at Creighton.

Reporting to the Director of the Office of Student and Family Support, the Assistant Director will be responsible for working with students, faculty, and parents; assisting in the implementation of student success and retention strategies. Successful candidate must navigate conversations with faculty, students, and parents while operating under office protocol, University policy, and FERPA.   

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage intake of support desk communications to include emails, phone calls and walk ins. Maintain touchpoint database to build parents and family communication strategies. Serves as lead of initiatives including: Bluejay Family Newsletter, Live Panels, Social Medias and serve as support to Bluejay Family Portal.
  • Assist a caseload of students in resolving issues impacting their academic success and persistence to graduation. Consistent outreach, follow up, and documentation with students.
  • Provide programming and activities after hours and on weekends.  Including set up of move-in welcome tents, Calling All Jays, IGGY awards, Jesuit Reception and family weekend welcome receptions.   
  • Assist in hiring, training, and ongoing development of undergraduate student staff.
  • Teach an academic success skills course.   
  • Organize annual outreaches including: Commuter signs, care packages, and holiday retention packages.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience including coordinating programs, communications, and events with a higher education community or similar external constituents is required.   Three years of experience strongly preferred.
