GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Director of the Equitable Healthcare Lab will work closely with the Director of the lab to manage projects, conduct research, and interface with lab collaborators and community organizations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Director in developing and leading initiatives that address healthcare delivery challenges and promote feasible, inclusive healthcare delivery solutions. The candidate must possess design methods expertise, experience managing projects and timelines, and strong communication skills. Interest in and understanding of healthcare, healthcare systems, and drivers of health disparities is considered an asset.
COMMUNICATIONS
This position requires a person with strong written and verbal skills. The primary audience will include students, staff, and faculty.
CUSTOMER SERVICE

Education & Experience
Master’s degree in design, public health, or healthcare administration — interest and experience with hospital operations a plus

Key Responsibilities


Key Responsibility
  • Assist the Director in the development and implementation of initiatives that promote inclusive healthcare delivery, including products, services and work processes.
  • Manage engagements with Lab partners from conception to completion, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and meet the Lab’s objectives.
  • Devise and conduct design explorations using co-design, contextual inquiry and rapid prototyping.
  • Formulate frameworks to guide “system-aware” design solutions and design requirements.

Key Responsibility
  • Prepare presentations and lead lab partners in taking next steps.
  • Interface with lab partners and community organizations to develop collaborative projects and partnerships.
  • Represent the Lab at meetings, conferences, and other events.
  • Supervise and mentor research assistants and interns.
  • Assist the Director in fundraising activities, including grant writing and donor cultivation.
