Definition of Class

This position assists in the overall daily departmental operations. The incumbent develops training to promote access to academic courses and programs; coordinates and implements assessment activities; plans, develops, and monitors assigned budgets; and provides guidance and supervision to subordinate staff.

  • Assists in daily departmental operations
  • Provides guidance and supervision to assigned staff.
  • Establishes priorities and timelines to ensure the timely completion of work assignments and projects.
  • Collaborates and participates in strategic planning, policy review and development, and assessment of departmental goals, initiatives, and objectives.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable disability-related laws and regulations.
  • Researches best practices and trends related to disability in higher education and issues of accessible course and program design.
  • Creates and administers faculty and student surveys to gather feedback on efficiency and usability of the testing center.
  • Develops policies and procedures to ensure efficient management and continual improvement of the testing center.
  • Assists with the development and facilitation of training designed to promote inclusion in academic courses and university programs.
  • Creates programs and training curriculum and develops expected learning outcomes.
  • Schedules, organizes, and conducts training workshops and seminars.
  • Determines and ensures equal access to educational opportunities by identifying and providing necessary services and/or reasonable accommodations for qualified students.
  • Reviews and interprets neuropsychological, psychoeducational and psychological evaluations for medical and educational history and recommendations from evaluators.
  • Analyzes psychometric data in evaluations for specific areas and levels of ability impact by evaluating discrepancies in ability and academic achievement scores.
  • Reviews student self-report and determines if the academic accommodation request is justified based on impact of a disability or skills-based weakness.
  • Collaborates with faculty regarding the provision of classroom accommodations and related best practices.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

  • Minimum Education/Experience

    Education:
    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

    AND


    Experience:
    Three (3) years of related experience.
