Position Information

The assistant director of scholarships & endowment administration is responsible for ensuring that university-endowed funds are properly administered according to guidelines, recipient expectations, and donor intent. Additionally, they are responsible for partnering with Alumni Engagement colleagues in the direction of the comprehensive UCR Alumni Association scholarship program to advance University Advancement objectives in support of UCR. This position, in collaboration with the director of stewardship and donor relations, must implement and streamline current processes, and identify, conceptualize, plan, and implement new programs that strengthen relationships and help to build a culture of philanthropy through engagement. They must develop and implement strategic plans and processes that grow and strengthen the impact of the University of California, Riverside's scholarship and endowment programs.

The full salary range for the Assistant Director of Scholarship & Endowment Administration is $59,000 - $103,400 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $59,000 - $71,000. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.  Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Thorough written, verbal and interpersonal communications, tact and political acumen to effectively represent the campus.
Thorough knowledge of basic concepts, principles, and procedures of building and maintaining effective relations with alumni, internal and key constituencies.
Thorough research, analytical and critical thinking skills, including sound judgment and decision-making skills and skill to correctly identifying real and potential problems, advising management as required, and proposing effective strategic resolutions.
Skill in project management, including event planning and meeting deadlines.
Active listening skills, including advanced critical thinking and analytical skills.


Preferred Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of the campus, its mission, goals, objectives, programs, achievements, infrastructure and issues of concern.

Direct experience in alumni relations or experience in an educational non-profit environment.

Knowledge of and experience with a constituent research database.

Knowledge of and experience with a scholarship management program (i.e. ScholarshipUniverse or AcademicWorks)

Knowledge of and experience with administering endowed funds including spending, tracking and reporting.
