Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Director of Greek Life ensures that the direction of the Greek community is consistent with the mission of the university, while contributing to the overall quality of campus life. They will be responsible for the advancement of the UA Greek community including four Greek governing bodies (IFC, NPHC, UGC and PC) and 34 national Greek-lettered organizations.
The Assistant Director of Greek Life provides direct support and guidance to the Interfraternity Council including its member organizations. He/she will also communicate and develop a working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders, develop and implement educational and social programming for both individuals and chapters, and respond to emergencies as needed. They will develop educational initiatives that address various programming needs and efforts such as diversity, risk management, health & wellness, scholarship, time management, and leadership development.
Work on special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in a related field (i.e. Higher Education, Student Affairs, or Business) is required

  • At least two years’ experience working in or with Greek organizations

  • Experience in regards to working with fraternities and sororities, and other programming efforts including but not limited to diversity programming, social policy, risk management, leadership and career development, and fraternity/sorority recruitment and new membership intake

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a university Student Affairs staff member in the areas of event planning at the collegiate campus level

  • Experience in facility management, student development, crisis management, and student accountability & conduct.

  • Experience working directly with multicultural organizations including trends and issues.

  • Experience in developing and presenting programs and/or workshops and developing educational materials. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of trends, practices, and planning/programming

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well with students and colleagues

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as project management and problem-solving abilities


Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.



Salary Information:


$50,000 - $55,000; Commensurate with education and experience
