Job Description:

The Assistant Director of the BHCC Dual Enrollment & Early College Program at Chelsea High School is a hands-on non-unit professional with proven collaborative experience and a strong understanding of high school, higher education and other community systems and cultures.  The position reports to BHCC's Director of High School Partnerships and Pathways. 

Working primarily out of Chelsea High School, the Assistant Director of the BHCC Dual Enrollment & Early College Program at Chelsea High School is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of dual enrollment & early college programming at Chelsea High School. The Assistant Director of the BHCC Dual Enrollment & Early College Program at Chelsea High School--working collaboratively with the BHCC High School Partnerships and Pathways staff, and Chelsea High School staff--will foster reciprocal and sustainable educational partnerships, manage collection and analysis of program data to meet established benchmarks, work with BHCC's grants department to manage and prepare reports for the program funders, and will work to ensure that participating students experience a successful transition to college. 

Essential functions

  • Manage Dual Enrollment & Early College related programming at Chelsea High School. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of High School Partnerships & Pathways and CHS staff to develop year-long course schedules across Chelsea High School and BHCC campuses. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of TRiO at Chelsea High School to develop a robust support and high school transition program for dual enrollment & early college students. 
  • Develop and implement robust and equitable recruitment plan for dual enrollment and early college students: program marketing and promotional strategies, collaborating with Chelsea High School guidance staff for application and registration support services, and family outreach. 
  • Manage and implement student advising using both CHS and BHCC tools and protocols (MyCAP and Self Service). 
  • Collaborate with BHCC and Chelsea High School and Chelsea Public Schools staff to develop and implement a college success curriculum. 
  • Supervise the implementation of curriculum alignment between Chelsea High School and Bunker Hill Community College. 
  • Manage program budgets, support fundraising efforts and grant awards and assist in the development of new grant proposals in collaboration with the Executive Director of Grants and relevant staff with the goal of ensuring that partnerships are reciprocal and sustainable in both human capital and financial resources. 
  • Supervise the collection and analysis of program data for state and foundation partner reports; monitor program effectiveness and identify and implement potential strategies for program improvement in collaboration with Institutional Effectiveness. 
  • Conducts pre-and post-evaluation of programmatic experiences. 
  • Utilizes finding to inform programmatic improvements. 
  • Ensure regular communication of program data to the Director of High School Partnerships and Pathways, the Dean of Academic Support and College Pathway Programs, other College administrators and CHS staff as requested. 
  • Provide regular updates and support to BHCC and Chelsea High School leadership to facilitate program evaluation processes and the production of internal and external evaluation reports. 
  • Develop and manage annual college fairs, tours, and speaker engagements, targeted at dual enrollment & early college students. 
  • Provide one-to-one advisement to develop individualized high school and dual enrollment & early college schedules for participating students. 
  • Respond to student and family inquiries regarding the dual enrollment & early college program.  Collaborate with BHCC and CHS staff to resolve student issues. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of High School Partnerships & Pathways to provide professional development opportunities to high school staff and CHS-based BHCC faculty. 
  • Coordinates the scheduling of class and meeting spaces for dual enrollment & early college courses at CHS. 
  • Develops and coordinates a CHS post-secondary transition program for juniors and seniors.  Program would include FAFSA, resume, and interviewing skills workshops to prepare students for college and/or work opportunities. 
  • Develops and manages a robust CHS early college alumni network. 


Requirements:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution required. 
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish. 
  • Demonstrated experience in college advising, high school programs, data reporting. 
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent presentation and advocacy skills. 
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in both a high school and community college setting. 
  • Experience in developing/implementing program strategy and design. 
  • Bilingual: English and (Chinese--Cantonese, Mandarin, Toishanese | Haitian Creole | Cape Verdean Creole | Vietnamese | Portuguese | French | Arabic | Somali) 


Additional Information:

Salary range: $65,000.00-$80.000.00
