Summary:

The Creighton University Athletic Department is now accepting applications for Assistant Director of Creative Services – Social Media. Creighton is located in Omaha, Nebraska, and competes with NCAA Division I members of the BIG EAST Conference.

This role will assist the creative services department in overseeing the implementation of the marketing and communication efforts of Creighton Athletics. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining content to help promote all 14 sports supported at the university. Primarily responsible for assisting with all digital marketing, social media, game operations, and graphic design efforts for the department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing department and team social media accounts, developing and maintaining social media, email, and digital plans, providing graphic design support for the department, game operations duties for assigned sports, managing branding efforts, assisting in photographic and video efforts, participating in managing the website and other tasks as assigned. Robust graphic design, video editing, and social media analytics skills are required. Complies with all applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and BIG EAST Conference regulations in the performance of job duties.

 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Sports Management, or a related field
  • Candidates should possess 2-3 years of experience in creative services or athletics
  • Experience pitching and developing strong relationships with traditional and new media
  • Experience in using online communications tools to enhance and amplify an organization’s core messages
  • Knowledge of various camera types and formats is critical. Must be skilled in sports videography and both short-form and medium length editing for sports.
  • Knowledge of media, social media concepts and principles, print and electronic media outlets, and accurate writing skills are essential
  • Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere) and Digital photography/video.
  • Strong organizational, communication, detail-oriented and overall computer skills


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Final Cut Pro;
Experience in Associated Press-style writing and proficiency in layout and design software;
Experience pitching and developing strong relationships with traditional and new media;
Experience in using online communications tools to enhance and amplify an organization’s core messages;
Knowledge of media, social media concepts and principles, print and electronic media outlets, and accurate writing skills;
Ability to self-start, work independently
Strong interpersonal/human relations skills and working with the public;
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written);
Customer service focus including the ability to assess inquiries and provide appropriate information or resolution using judgment and available resources, and proven ability to maintain confidentiality;
Ability to coordinate and prioritize work with multiple and conflicting demands in a deadline-oriented environment;
Ability to be collaborative and work in a team environment;
