Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Bar Preparation and Success will create, implement, and oversee ambitious and innovative initiatives designed to ensure all current students and graduates pass the bar exam(s) of their choice. Employee will work individually and proactively with every current student and alumnus planning to take the bar exam.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops, executes, and oversees a bar success strategy that includes: (1) individualizing and updating a plan for each student throughout law school based on recurring individual meetings with every current student, continuing after their graduation, (2) initiating the plan 1L year, (3) tracking individual bar preparation progress metrics for success ad (4) tracking group metrics to ensure continued improvement in the overall bar strategy and institutional results.
  • Obtains a deep understanding of all things bar related including but not limited to: (1) peer school programming and strategies, (2) state differences and changes in the bar exam including NextGen, UBE, and non-participant states, (3) bar review resources and bar prep courses, and (4) differences in jurisdiction requirements.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all state bar associations, bar review vendors, and be the primary source of accurate data and information for all bar related matters. Serves as the primary source of accurate data and information for all bar related matters.
  • Provides training and guidance to a team of bar coaches who provide supplemental individual support for bar takers. Educates all faculty and staff to the extent beneficial to the success of every student.
  • Identifies, compiles, and analyzes bar examination, student, and alumni data relevant to current and future bar success.
  • Crafts and delivers communications related to bar exam success for individual and targeted group audiences through a variety of formats.
  • Creates a process, outline, and calendar for all bar success related responsibilities, tasks, and strategies. 
  • Performs other tasks as assigned and academically related activities. 
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience advising law students.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to be discrete in handling confidential and sensitive matters while complying with FERPA guidelines.
  • Excellent professional judgment. 


Required Qualifications

JD, admitted to a state bar, and three years of related experience.

Salary Range
$57,300.00 - $97,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
