Assistant Director of Athletic Performance

The Assistant Director of Athletic Performance coordinates and directs all aspects of strength and conditioning training for assigned sports and assists with training other sports as necessary, which includes travel to away contests as available.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •       Directs strength and conditioning sessions of assigned sports
  •       Travels to away contests as available
  •       Assists with home game contest preparation as available
  •       Assists with departmental tasks
  •       Performs oversight of facility maintenance
  •       Assists with supervision of interns and volunteers

 

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:  

  •       Ability to multi-task
  •       Ability to supervise people
  •       Ability to educate student-athletes in strength & conditioning, lifestyle nutrition, and regeneration methods
  •       Ability to work well with others and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  •       Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  •       Knowledge of GPS data collection and analytics
  •       Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Management, or relevant field; two years of relevant experience, a minimum of 1-3 years intercollegiate strength and conditioning experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

 

Certifications from an approved governing body (CSCCa, NSCA, USA-W), CPR, AED & First Aid are required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. A valid driver’s license is required.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: A master’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Management, or related field; experience with GPS or other wearable technology, and personal involvement in competitive sport are preferred.
