Assistant Director of Alumni Relations

The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations oversees and implements strategic, mission-driven programs and events to engage alumni and donors. Builds relationships with alumni across all schools and colleges, and target market cities. They initiate, discover, grow, and develop these relationships to enhance affinity for Creighton University.  Coordinates programs and communication working with alumni and collaborating with the campus community to move university initiatives forward. Serves as a UR liaison to campus partners, collaborating and creating worthwhile opportunities that move alumni through the engagement pipeline.

 


Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship management including discovery and personal visits, stewardship, event interactions and alumni outreach in assigned markets.
  • Meet and track assigned alumni engagement metrics, the collection and analysis of alumni information and data, and evaluation and reporting on engagement outcomes.
  • Build and maintain programming and events, including but not limited to watch parties, regional signature events, industry specific events and other annual events.
  • Maintain financial records, track expenses and purchasing related to events, merchandise, collateral, and other alumni-related expenditures.
  • Collaborate with university relations and campus partners including but not limited to Enrollment Management, Career Center, Mission and Ministry, Student Life and Athletics for joint engagement and pipeline building with alumni and donors.

 


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field

 


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of alumni relations, relationship management and project coordination
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills transferrable across all communication channels, including phone, virtual and in person.
  • Cultural competency; ability to understand and appreciate cultural differences that impact constituents; ability to communicate effectively across cultures
  • Appreciation and understanding of Creighton University's mission and the ability to effectively communicate it.
  • Outgoing and positive interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively or independently while managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to work with, lead and motivate individuals in large or small groups
  • Ability to work with, recruit, lead and motivate constituents on an individual level
  • Ability to work well in a professional, cooperative way with others for the benefit of the organization.
  • Ability to organize time, projects, and details
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • High energy and self-directed individual with high priority for customer service, ability to follow deadlines to organize, administer and coordinate multiple facets of programs, projects and events.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Database and Customer Relationship Manager system experience preferred.
