GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Admission- Recruitment and Outreach, the Assistant/Associate Director- Recruitment will manage a team of transfer admission counselors in order to nurture the enrollment funnel and
to seamlessly execute existing admission pathways, programs, and processes, providing a positive experience for students and other stakeholders. The Assistant/Associate Director will work alongside the Director of Admission- Recruitment to create and implement comprehensive territory management and outreach strategies to move
prospects through the enrollment funnel.
The Assistant/Associate Director:
1. Contributes to the successful accomplishment of the University’s enrollment objectives by implementing a comprehensive student recruitment plan for undergraduate transfer students which includes, but is not limited to, the following components: development of an inquiry pool through the use of National Student Clearinghouse and historic first-year admission data, outreach (college fairs and visits), community college relations, use of the web and emerging technologies, digital marketing and communication strategies, effective use of CRM technologies, campus visit programs, publications, and correspondence.
2. Assists in the development and implementation of data-driven recruitment strategies by effectively utilizing data from a variety of sources to evaluate student characteristics and trends, as well as the University’s market position and competition.
3. Fosters a team environment that empowers staff to provide constituents with excellent customer service, personalization, and confidence in their academic program and course transferability.
4. Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
5. Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses and conferences, and attending training and/or courses as required by the Director of Admission- Recruitment.
6. Contributes to the overall success of the Office of Undergraduate Admission by advising and assisting the Director of Admission- Recruitment in in all aspects relating to the recruitment and admission of transfer students and by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
7. Provides leadership, management, and implementation for the transfer recruitment efforts of the Office of Undergraduate Admission and develops a competent, productive and effective staff by hiring and supervising, directly and through delegation, the professional and student staff on the transfer recruitment team.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, and ability to multitask essential. Spanish proficiency considered, but not required.

Special Schedule Requirements
This position is a hybrid role and will be required to be on campus at least three days per week.
Domestic and international travel (4-6 weeks per year) may be required, as well as some evening and weekend work.

Qualifications


Education & Experience
A minimum bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of at least 3 years of experience in transfer admissions and recruitment, college admissions, and/or other customer service organizations, with 1-2 years experience leading a transfer recruitment team highly preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Experience working CRM application management processes and systems including but not limited to AY application systems, Salesforce, TargetX, Slate, and ERPs, including Banner for an educational institution.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, and ability to multitask essential. Spanish proficiency considered, but not required.
Excellent time management skills and flexibility to balance significant travel and in-office responsibilities.
Ability to lead teams and supervise staff to achieve stated goals.
This position is a hybrid role and will be required to be on campus at least three days per week.

SUPERVISION & BUDGET AUTHORITY
This role reports up to the Director of Admission- Recruitment and directly manages three transfer admission counselors.
This position does not have budget authority. The Assistant/Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Admission- Recruitment to operate within a set outreach and travel budget.

Key Responsibilities


Key Responsibility
Enrollment Funnel, Territory, and Outreach Management:
- Lead a team of transfer recruiters
- Serve on Admissions Committee to conduct final reviews and evaluate special scholarship applications
- In partnership with Director of Admission- Recruitment, establish territory and enrollment funnel goals for admissions staff, define key schools, set new student enrollment targets for each of those
schools, and devise and implement strategies to reach those targets
- Inspire and supervise staff to achieve stated goals
- Develop and manage inquiry nurturing, application conversion, yield outreach, and anti-melt outreach strategies including course advising
- Analyze historical enrollment data along with census data to determine optimum travel/recruitment plan in various markets.
- Determine appropriate recruitment events for different schools/regions. Examples include community college presentations, school or community workshops, appointments with students outside of school location and regular school hours, and transfer advisor breakfasts/luncheons that could include informational presentations.
- Develop and leverage alumni relationships for recruitment activities such as marketing, school visits, presentations, receptions, and send-offs.
- Understand offerings and differences in grading and academics at schools in assigned territory to inform admission decisions and advising recommendations.
- Assist students and families through both admission and financial aid appeals. Understand components of financial aid awards in order to guide students and families through their award offers and navigate the appeal process when necessary.

Key Responsibility
Pathway Partnership Management:
- Manage and implement business processes in order to support existing transfer pathways, partnerships, and programs, providing a seamless experience for prospective students and stakeholders.
- Advise Director of Admission- Recruitment on potential improvements that can be made to processes in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- In partnership with Director of Admission – Recruitment, monitor the admission funnel for specific partnerships in order to inform team outreach and customer service

Key Responsibility
Admission Counseling and Advising:
- Represent the university both on and off campus to prospective students, parents, school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
- Cover travel and on-campus appointments when necessary.
- Provide counseling regarding the admission process, course transferability and transfer credit policies, and opportunities at the university. One-on-one admission counseling to diverse populations is an important responsibility of this position.
- Admission counseling occurs primarily by in-person appointments, phone calls and emails.

Strategic, Organizational Development/Growth:
- Collaborate with Undergraduate Admission leadership to launch new partnerships and initiatives.
- Collaborate with Undergraduate Admission leadership and transfer recruiters to implement partnership agreements through consistent outreach, recruitment, admission protocols, and customer service.
- Work closely with Director of Admission-Recruitment and transfer recruitment team on outreach strategies, recruitment programs, and growth initiatives.
