Job Summary
 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Enrollment Management and Marketing Strategy, the Assistant Director of Marketing, Student Recruitment and Global Outreach, creates and implements a cohesive marketing plan designed to support lead generation and overall student enrollment for Harris programs.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively across team members in marketing, recruitment, operations, and analytics.
  • Monitors multiple deadlines on a daily basis to ensure projects are on schedule and expectations are aligned.
  • Establishes timelines and project schedules, for a variety of print and digital projects, working with both internal and external staff for design, writing, and copy editing.
  • Supports multi-channel advertising activities by working with key vendors on lead generation.
  • Serves as project manager for SRGO virtual and in-person events, helping to manage event calendar, logistics, inventory and design of promotional materials, and key outreach initiatives to increase event attendance.
  • Supports the sales enablement function of SRGO marketing team by updating key materials used by the recruitment team, and conducting and presenting competitor research.
  • Manages and updates content catalog, while also providing recommendations on how to best leverage and repurpose existing brand assets, and develop recommendations for new content creation. 
  • Conducts research, analyzes data, and monitors industry trends and best practices to implement, test and refine strategies, with specific knowledge of competitor programs.
  • Keeps abreast of trends in digital marketing, ensuring Harris is leveraging new and emerging channels to reach and engage prospective students. 
  • Project manages the revision and development of new pieces to be used for print media, social, video, website, blog and other communications to be used throughout the admissions cycle. Experience with editing and excellent attention to details.
  • An understanding of awareness building at the top of the funnel, and how to create effective nurturing campaigns for different populations.
  • Provides support for Marketing budget management, tracking payments, purchase orders, monitor cost of external vendors and contract employers, and projecting future costs.
  • Performs one or more of the following marketing functions: marketing communications /advertising; Web blogs or digital marketing; market research; development or review and update of the marketing infrastructure and management of external sales agency relationships.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports on sales and circulation activity. Analyses possible solutions using standard procedures. Conducts market research, analyzes results and develops marketing strategies based on findings. May participate in developing new products and services, and determining new markets.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.

Experience:

  • Two years of experience in marketing or communications.
  • Multicultural environment and with diverse clients.
  • Familiarity with higher education environment and knowledge of the University of Chicago.
  • Writing or editing in a professional setting.
  • Project management and working with external contractors or vendors.

Preferred Competencies

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines, experience with project management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with Excel, Slate or other CRM and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • A collaborative attitude and regular communication with Marketing and Communications and other professionals on campus to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.
